List of Global Search Engines

Search Essentials

Bing Search Engine November 2023

Have you considered all of the search engines?

Before we dive into covering our ever growing list of the search engines available today, one key thing to note is that the required resources, compute power and storage, not to mention it’s associated costs are something to consider as well because many of the smaller search engines that are still well known globally pull some of their data from the two big players, Google and Bing.

Also, it’s worth noting that DuckDuckGo and Swisscows both partially use data in some way to render the search results you see from a third party like Bing or Google. This is a good way for them to compete while they grow and populate their own search index that will later, likely remove their need to rely on these third parties. Brave Search previously relied on third-party sources for their search data which accounted for around 13% of their search data, but announced back in April 2023 that they are now search-independent and this means Brave Search users will now receive 100% of their results from the Brave Search index.

While this list of search engines is living and upated as more are discovered, the information above will certainly assit any website owner with growing both their online visability and search presence across a much wider, global audience.
